Tuesday 24th January

We woke up to another foggy day.  We had survived the first night, but did wake up early and were ready for our cooked breakfasts. As the sun was beginning to peep through the clouds, we tidied our rooms for inspection. Some of us had more tidying to do than others!!

Group A set about building their shelters from the branches provided. This required teamwork, we all rose to the occasion and worked together. Mrs Vickery helped test our shelters to see if they were waterproof. Some of us got quite wet!

Group B completed a set of challenges to earn protection for their eggs. They must have done well as they had a 100% success rate, no eggs broken.

This afternoon the sun came out as we walked down to the beach. Rock pool making, fossil hunting and sandcastle building were planned. After successfully finding whelks, anemones and periwinkles, we left our rock pools to settle. We manged to easily find some impressive sharks teeth and fossils.

Our evening entertainment was listening to a fascinating talk about wildlife around Stubbington.
Then it was time for bed,

so that we had a good night's sleep to prepare us for tomorrow's fun

Monday 23rd January

A great first day. It was cold and foggy but that didn't stop us enjoying Eggstreme challenge and pond dipping.

We set off from school very excited.After unpacking and finding our way around the site through the fog we put on many layers so we wouldn't feel the cold.

The pond dipping group had to break the ice first with a broom handle. It was exciting when we caught beetles, fish and snails.

Team building was the focus for the Eggstreme challenge group. Working together to earn packaging
 to protect the egg was the aim. The eggs were then fired from the trebuchet. 2 groups were successful!! with one group breaking theirs before they got to the trebuchet.

We went to the hide after supper, but unfortunately the badgers were elsewhere tonight.The girls did see a fox  having his tea but he had left by the time the boys got there. Maybe we will get a chance to go back later in the week.

Stubbington January 2017

Day 5 Friday 5th February

Our last day at Stubbington!
This morning was spent packing- squashing a weeks worth of mud and clothes into a suitcase.
Then it was time to play Stubbington Fox. We had to run away from the farmer before she could see us, if we were caught we were stamped. As you can see some of us were caught quite a few times!!

After lunch we excitedly climbed aboard the coach and said goodbye and thank you to the Stubbington staff. We all had a exciting but tiring time, but were still  looking forward to getting home to our home comforts and beds.

Day 4 Thursday 4th February

Another great day!
All the children have been pond dipping and found  some amazing creatures.
Group B took part in Earthquake, working really well in their teams to climb the obstacles with all the equipment. Max, Freddie and Jessica earning certificates for working together as a team.
Group A were challenged to protect the packaged egg after it had been fired from the trebuchet. Sadly only 1 survived, the rest were eggstinct!
The highlight of the week was the S Factor talent show this evening. Well done Foxes, (Mrs Parsons is proud she has never won before). Everyone worked hard singing and performing and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Well done Phoenix, James, Rosalia,Grace L and Mrs Bowie who all received a Foxy Awards for enjoying the day and entering into the Stubbington spirit.
