Le Stubbinton, c'est fin!

The last update of Stubbington 2014

Wow, what a week! We were sad to be leaving this morning but knew we had one last highlight - Stubbington Fox. We were hunted by nasty farmer Parsons and smelly farmer Stubbs. We had to find clues in the conservation area while avoiding getting caught by the farmers and stamped on the face!

Well done to Megan and Ellen who won Stubbington Fox.

Packing our bags!

We have some Stubbington experts here to give us their views.

Molly: Stubbington was so cool, Earthquake was awesome because we worked as a team and we got so muddy! I sailed across the lava pit though without falling in. I would give Stubbington 10 out of 10!

Emily: At Stubbington I ran out of clothes. Don't go there if you do not want to get muddy (just saying) but on the other hand it's awesome. The food was luxurious because of the wonderful puddings. I would give Stubbington 10 out of 10!

Amber: Mr Scarborough was really funny, he pretended to tell people off but was just teasing. When it was someone's birthday he would call them to the front and tell them they had been very naughty because they did not have his permission to be born on that day, we then sang happy birthday in the noisiest way possible. During inspection would get us in the face with the flag and pretend it was an accident. He was great!
I would give Stubbington 10 out of 10!

Mr Stubbs: I'm very tired. 10 out of 10.

And the final word goes to our successful trip leader.....

Mrs Parsons: Well done to Year 4 for a fantastic trip, you made Redlands proud!

Thanks for looking at the blog and leaving your comments. We have many more photos and hope to make them available after we have sorted through them.

Goodbye from Stubbington!

Stubbington Day 4

Hello from a very wet Stubbinton!

Wow, what miserable weather, but we have fortunately been keeping our spirits up even in these damp conditions.

Well the small mammal hotel project yielded excellent results, with Redlands successfully trapping three Long Tailed Field Mice and a vole. We carefully studied the animals, being careful to be extra quiet, before releasing them back to where we set the traps.

The three mice and the vole.

Group B went pond dipping today. Well done to Sirlo who proved to be a master fisherman.

It was finally group A's turn for Earthquake and it was wet! Despite the weather the children had a fantastic time and displayed excellent teamwork.

Still smiling despite the weather.

The highlight was the rope swing over the lava pit. Some got across safely..........

...and some didn't!

This is what Keeley thought about it.

Stubbington Stars go to Ryan and Serlo who both have had excellent trips, well done!

That's it from day 4. Home tomorrow but still plenty to look forward to, most notably Stubbington Fox! See you all tomorrow!

Stubbington day 3

Hi from Stubby (as we now call it)

Last night we had a great time playing dorm golf. The driving range was a bit hairy but the putting green more placid. Well done to Earth set who were the victors! Here is Todd showing how it is done.

We went to the beach to study wildlife this morning. If we could sum it up in one world it would be WINDY!!!!!!

Mrs Hadlow thinks Mr Stubbs looks like a farmer in this picture, but really we all know the correct way of describing it would be heroic! (Honest.)

Mrs Bowie the Meerkat!

Huddled like penguins against the wind.

We turned ourselves into kites. Some of the lighter children actually took off but Mrs Parsons had the good mind to attach string. They are all now safely back on terra firma!

Mrs Bowie had a go but strangely did not take off.........

Some post-beach hair doos. You would pay a lot of money for these in a salon.

We had a mixed schools football tournament where everyone had a great kick about. Well done to all three teams, especially the girls who gave as good as they got!

Mrs Bowie and Mrs Parsons looking beautiful.

Animal hotel, we stuffed traps full of lovely food and bedding and hope to see if we caught anything. We look forward to seeing the results tomorrow.

Stubbington Stars for day 3, well done to Ellen and Abbi. Fab stuff! Unfortunately Mr Stubbs got the camera jammed so Abbi is not here, typical!

More updates tomorrow, keep leaving comments!
